The effect of technology on young minds

Having grown up in a time when mobile phones were just started to become common, I cannot relate to kids having ipads, phones etc as one of their necessary toys. Watching babies playing ipad games, makes me wonder whether this use of technology is good for their development skills at such a tender age.

I am not convinced that this is the next big step for a technology led society. Maybe we need to compartmentalise technology and its role in our lives.
